About Us

We’re Gabriel and Fiona, nature conduits and multidisciplinary artists who have worked in virtually every medium. Our sole and soul purpose is to make beautiful things and share them with others.

FuturArtifax was created out of the pull toward more primal creation techniques using metal and fire. Our work speaks permanence, meaning and iconography during a period of history entrenched in the temporariness of mass-produced objects and experiences.

For years we've explored the role of Humans As Nature, not separate from it and how this effects what we create as well as destroy. We are supposedly living in the apex of progress and technological achievement, yet Humanity has never been more disconnected from one another, the elements, the flora, fauna, night sky and general wonder of our collective living experience. The scar that has been created echoes through all facets of life.

What’s emerged in the wake are endless strip malls, ecological destruction and billions of people with heads bowed toward illuminated glowing screens. What remains are electronic gadget detritus and online content with a lifespan of a house fly. What legacy is left behind? This digital dust reflects a ghost of a society that has forgotten its roots, origins and the golden nectar of what being human means.

FuturArtifax is the antidote to the impermanent and seeks to rekindle connections worth remembering.

What sigils, symbols and objects speak ‘human’ when the year is 3024 and humanity is possibly nowhere to be found? Did we find a way through the darkness? We sure hope so. 

Our sand casting  process is hands on, skillful and welcomes in the element of the unexpected as molten metal hits earth finally to be quench in water. Designs are first carved by hand out of jewelers wax. Many fail, some break, few make the grade to be cast. Every item is poured one at a time and finished by hand. No mass production or robots are allowed in our studio. The finished work is an art object or piece of jewelry with lasting value and meaning that speaks a little mystery or insight into this strange and wonderful time to be alive.
